Resumen

Measurement of dynamic capabilities has been oriented mainly to sectors other than the agrifood sector, and there is still no consensus on what factors to measure and how to do it. Therefore, there is a need to design a scale for measuring these capabilities with specific indicators for agricultural organizations in developing countries such as Colombia as a tool to evaluate the internal reality, make comparisons over time or between organizations, and make decisions to improve management in this area. This article aimed to the development of an instrument for measuring dynamic capabilities for businesses in the Colombian agrifood sector, based on the evaluation of the seven factors that make up these capabilities: Detection, Integration and Coordination, Reconfiguration, Learning, Innovation, Alliance, and Management and Leadership. The methodology consisted of three stages: (i) identification of elements for measuring dynamic capabilities in the available literature, (ii) formulation of evaluation items relevant and contextualized to the Colombian agrifood sector, and (iii) validation of the instrument designed through the application of pilot tests and statistical analysis. A highly reliable and valid instrument was generated, with a total of 35 items, easy to understand and implement, which can be completed directly by agribusiness managers as a self-assessment. This instrument can be used by organizations of any size and within any link of the Colombian agrifood system.
