Abstract

This report collects the most representative aspects that infl uenced the prompt introduction of TPM within an auto assembly plant (SOFASA S.A.). The studies covered a time length from 1988 to 2005, where the enterprise went from the state of not being viable to achieving a competitive position internationally among one of the most developed industry sectors. The major findings arethe definition of phases, causal actions and relations according to durability, order and repetition of the events occurred.
