"Toward an international rule of law? Genesis and development of the promotion of the rule of law within the United Nations Organization.

Abstract

The promotion of the Rule of Law is, after maintaining the international peace and security, one the main challenges facing the United Nations Organization in the current century. In this paper the author analyzes the evolution that the promotion of the Rule of Law has experienced in the heart of the United Nations, evolution that stars from the internationalization of a domestic model of the Rule of Law and ends with the postulation of an international model inspired by the Rule of Law.The author also wonders whether, in light of the current development of international law would be possible to conceive an “International Rule of Law”.
