Abstract

Hans Kelsen and Carl Schmitt, two of the most important thinkers of the twentieth century, understood war as a scourge, but each one interpreted it from their particular field of study. This specific mode of understanding war, led them to different ways of thinking how to limit it. This document is divided into two main parts: the first will examine how these two thinkers understood war; in the second part it will compare the proposals of both authors on how to limit it.
