University students’ writing difficulties. A case study in Master’s and degree levels

Abstract

Results of a research project, developed by the author at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico), are presented in this article. The project is aimed at finding the most frequent problems university students encountered when writing. The sample consisted of 126 youngsters distributed in groups of undergraduate students of Odontology, Nutrition, Accounting and a group of students of Master’s in Science Education. The findings reveal serious problems with written expression and offer valuable information to implement corrective actions.
