Abstract

Multirate control allows a greater freedom for the design of control systems due to the selection of diverse sampling patterns. So, a conventional SISO (Single-Input Single-Output) system may be transformed into a multirate MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) system with square matrices, which considerably simplifies the design. This idea is mentioned by some authors, but only now it is directly applied using a special type of sampling and a model matching control method.
