Abstract

The following paper focuses on the importance in the commitment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in countries with long term armed conflicts, as an effective tool for the peace building process and to deal with the subsequent consequences. The analysis is supported by the study of International Alert, an independent peacebuilding organization that works in Colombia, also engaging the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and the CSR System, giving us an approach to consider the awareness of peacebuilding potential of the private sector in Colombia.
