Abstract

Populist management of the criminal justice system is increasingly trendy in our context. This article discusses how the penal populism set the tone for criminal policy design, as well as the effective production of “real” speech around the penalty of life imprisonment. The article also examines the relationship between the concepts of criminal policy and penal populism and the strong tendency to involve citizens in its configuration
