Abstract

This article focuses on the tensions and imbalances that arise between multicultural rights and a specific form of nationalism. To achieve this objective the author creates a theoretical model that conceptualizes around the legal collective goods, and proposes a structure of collective rights and interests that correspond to the meaning of collective goods. All of this, helps the author to analyze a specific historical experience in which these tensions and asymmetries materialize: the Statute of Catalonia approved in 2006. The article concludes that collective rights and interests in the Statute, are the main instrument of reprochable nationalism that subordinate other cultures to Catalan culture.
