Abstract
Under the context of the criminal law of risk, the discussion of whether or not the legal interests are the object of protection of criminal law has taken force. This paper is an approximation and it argues for a material notion of the legal interests from a liberal political perspective. The paper focuses on the discussion about the scope and content of the legal interest, the harm principle and the current state of the concept of the legal interests on the called criminal law of risk or criminal law of security.
