Abstract

This paper focuses on Project Based Learning (APB) designed for use in a technological environment that encourages learning because it allows students to choose topics of interest for their professional lives. An important feature of APB is solving problems with practical applications since the project is oriented to action. With each project the students should use Information and Communication Technologies (TIC) with increased effectiveness and use them for research tasks, report writing and electronic presentations. Students receive an authentic evaluation using Performance Assessment. The introduction of APB based on TIC as an innovative educational experience in undergraduate and graduate
courses of Microbial Ecology in Havana University (Cuba), is based on elements of knowledge construction with use of TIC for developing abilities and competences of students.
