Abstract

This article proposes a revision of the heroic categories to evidence heroic image and narrative as manifestations of the human and cultural coming about and integral part of social representations, community relations, life and death bonds, and solidarities and rivalries that mankind builds with divinities. Heroic figures are characterized by common elements that make a universe of such representation, but these are evidently supported by tales, considerations, and particular historical situations that make the hero change certain attributions and manifestations with each culture. This article can not take care of certain modern and contemporary heroic notions, among others, because it would distance this work from its intentions and its specific use in the context of a research that searched for the popular narratives
that made heroes out of the drug dealers.
