Abstract

Frequently in the academic circles, terms that the community considers understood are used, but at the time of identifying their meanings it is evident that there are no coincidences. This article examines some words
such as mentalities, representations, imaginary, episteme, gnoseologies and knowledge theory, and suggests a historical and social path to understand
their mutual relations and the importance that they have in cultural and scientific life.
