Abstract
The manufacturing strategy in its contemporary perspective, has been constituted in a key activity for the organization and a paradigm to respond in an effective and distinctive way, to the needs, desires and the client’s expectations; in this sense, this abstract exposes a theoretical approaching to the manufacturing strategy topic, describing the general problem that surrounds the manufacturing function in the contemporary competitive scenario, the origin and evolution of the paradigm, the main concepts and definitions, the current models of research and the elements that conform the architecture and the essence of the manufacturing strategy.
