Abstract

During the last decade the salary gaps between the qualified and non qualified workers in Latin-America have increased, contrary to what was expected, theoretically, as a result of globalization and international trade.The article goes over the literature surrounding the subject, to present among others; the reduction of the state size, the international competitiveness, the flexibility of international markets and the changes in requirements for employees, as the main factors that have made that in the practice, the result of the integration of markets in Latin-America is a constant increase of this inequality.
