Abstract
The cells culture is an alternative source for the production of the secondary metabolites. The aim is to research the expression of flavonoids by culture suspension of Matricaria recutita L vegetable cells. There are different methods in order to obtain primary callus from seeds. The calluses were transferred to a liquid medium with a phytohormonal composition, based in kinetine-2,4 dichlorophenoxiacetic, stirring in an orbital shaker at 180 r.p.m. with different culture medium volumes. The flavonoids were determined by qualitative method (Shinoda) in closed and semicontinuous culture process. In closed culture with less medium volume, a decrease of the expression of the flavonoids related to time. In the semi-continuous culture and with a higher medium volume there was a gradual time increase of the flavonoids expression. Viable structures identified as plastids, were also obtained.
