Abstract

This paper deals with religion and in particular with the desire to relieve in some kina of God. As opposed to those who claim that God exists and this belief is irrefutable, I argue that if the only reason for it is wishful thinking, for this very reason it is an argument against. Nevertheless, with respect to those who claim no God’s existence, that this is better for men, and the desire is consequence of erroneous conceptions about themselves, I claim that the thriving for God comes from the very structure of the human being. To sustain this last thesis I analyze the contingency experience and the way in which human attitudes manifest in phenomena such as thanks for life itself, beloved ones, frustration and responsibility in life.
