Abstract

The following article is intended to introduce basic information about Korean food and how their oldest expressions have become relevant on the world stage. It begins with the history of the most characteristic elements of Korean cuisine and how its food took the current importance. Finally, the kimchi is highlighted as a reference to show the possibility a nation has to take advantage outside their national borders with their food culture as a tool for this purpose. It concludes with an invitation to the reader to explore the cultural ties between Korea and Latin America through its gastronomies (cuisines).
