Abstract

The 20th century is considered as the century of great educational transformation, in all areas of knowledge. A valuable legacy in the pedagogical proposals based on the integral formation of the human being from its essence, allows the development of human capacities: intellectual, emotional and social. The author of this paper opts to consider the 20th century as the “golden age” of education and therefore the golden age of music education, due to the emergence of pedagogical and didactic proposals built on important philosophical foundations. EDGAR WILLEMS is one of the main representatives of this transformative movement. It is important to know and practice his legacy as a valuable inheritance for the world nowadays. The proposal is one of universal characteristics which can be applied to any context or environment of musical learning, providing meaningful and updated elements
