Juan Sebastián Cardona Ospina, Universidad EAFIT
He was born in Marseille, Risaralda, in the year of 1992. He started in the Youth Band of the House of Culture of said municipality his trumpet studies in 2007. In 2009 he entered the Bachelor of Music program of the University of Caldas in which he received classes with teachers such as Juan Carlos Valencia Ramos and Héctor Fabio Torres, among others. During the second half of 2013 he made a study trip to the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, thanks to the internationalization program of the University of Caldas, and received classes in the Degree in Composition program with teachers such as Juan Carlos Tolosa and José Halac . During 2015, he studied composition and orchestration with the teachers Gustavo Parra, Juan Carlos Padilla Rincón and James Díaz. He is currently studying for a Master's Degree in Music with an emphasis on Composition at EAFIT University, under the guidance of the teacher Víctor Agudelo. Among the awards he has obtained are: winner of the national competitions II and IV of young composers of the Caldas Symphony Orchestra and winner in the emphasis on the composition of the EAFIT University young talent competition in 2016 and winner of the national competition of new Colombian choral and orchestral music in the same year. In 2015, he received presidential decoration for the academic merit of the Night of the Best event.
