Abstract

The energy dispatch process in Colombia is carried out in four different stages. Electrical and reliability constraints are added at each stage. One of the most important characteristics of the dispatch process is the inclusion of a balanced risk policy. The dispatch must be calculated so that the expected relative load sheddings in the different sub-areas of the system are minimized and equalized. This paper presents a lineal optimization model that solves the dispatch problem in one single stage and incorporates the balanced risk policy mentioned above.
