This thematic issue brings together contributions from academics who, from various disciplinary perspectives, examine the division of Ibero-American cultural history into two blocs following the signing of the Treaty of Tordesillas on June 7, 1494, with the mediation of the Roman Catholic Church. The main section is complemented by three articles and two commemorative texts in honor of recently deceased professors: Pablo Chiuminatto of Chile and Mauricio Uribe López of Colombia. The cover image is a photograph entitled Macapá, mouth of the Amazon River (11/21/2022) by Miguel Masegosa (Source: Flickr).
